Teaching English Learners by Lise Regan and Ron Rohac

Teaching English Learners is an excellent new site which provides a library of resources and materials for classroom and ESL teachers who teach English language learners.  The site was designed by Lise Regan and Ron Rohac.  The resources and materials are designed to help educators with their sheltered instruction needs (SIOP and SDAIE).   Teaching English Learners is here to support educators with instructional strategies and content materials that help ELLs meet rigorous content area standards.  All materials and activities they provide have been classroom tested for success.

Teaching English Learners is a membership website, but is well worth the investment.  The membership fees are very reasonable considering the vast amounts of instructional content educators will have access to.  Educators can sign up for free samples, before signing up for a membership.  They will want to sign up for the membership though, after seeing the high quality and usefulness of the materials.

Here are the benefits of joining Teaching English Learners.

  1.  Educators will be able to use hundreds of instructional resources for teaching English language learners in math, science, social studies, English language arts and more.  Resources are available as PDFs, PowerPoints, and video lessons.  Resources are aligned to the Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
  2. Educators will receive access to professional development videos that are easy to watch- 1 minute long.  These videos provide valuable instructional strategies for teaching ELLs in all content areas.
  3. Educators will receive three customized ESL activities made specifically for their English language classrooms, regardless of content area.

Memberships are available for individual members, teacher trainers, groups, and schools or districts.  These memberships are available to every educator that works with English language learners.

Blog full of ESL instructional strategies is available for your reading pleasure, written by Ron Rohac.
